Jacob
I was born and raised in Hamilton.  Living in the city all my life has allowed me to witness significant changes that affect not only the youth of Hamilton, but youth all across Canada. I first got involved with LFY through volunteer events and my employment with one of Canada's largest bank. As I learned more about Frederick and LFY, I became inspired to do more and make an impact in society. When a position on the youth council became available, I knew it was the right time to get involved.

I studied Marketing at Mohawk College and completed my education while working in the banking industry on a full-time basis, graduating in 2018. After obtaining my diploma, I began writing all the necessary financial licensing examinations to further develop my career with the Bank. While I don’t know where my career will take me, I do know that I have the ability to use my knowledge and experience to help make a lasting impact on my community and those who live in it.

Throughout my career I have had the opportunity to help educate Hamilton’s youth on financial literacy and how to best fight against poverty. Through my role on the youth council, I will research the effects the COVID pandemic has had on poverty, identify the key issues of youth experiencing poverty and help identify resources and strategies to improve their financial literacy. I know the entire youth council will be able to put our unique experiences and expertise to work, allowing us to create great impact in the lives of youth.
