Tashi
Background: Tashi was born and raised in the beautiful paradise island of Jamaica. She is the eldest of four 4 children and as a result, learned to be responsible and productive from a tender age. Tashi helped to mother and care for her siblings and taught them several life lessons. The most important one that she’s proud of is how to exercise faith and courage during tough situations, through prayer. She credits her mother for being an exemplary, strong woman who has taught her well.
Tashi is the holder of a Bachelor of Chemical Engineering degree from the University of Technology, Jamaica. Although a qualified Engineer, she continued her passion to teach and encourage young minds when she took on a teaching position, as a high school teacher at an all-boys school. Tashi built great bonds with her students, as she believed in them and always led with her tag line ‘Every child deserves and can have a bright future, as long as they have at least one dedicated and prayerful person in their life, who chose never to give up on them’. The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6 ‘Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.’
Tashi is happily married to Steve and has three beautiful daughters Khalia, Heidi-Marie and Hailey-Marie. Their family took a leap of faith and migrated to Canada in 2015. To date, this has been the biggest and most challenging decision she and her husband have had to make on behalf of their daughters. However, with their strong faith and belief in God, they were able to overcome the obstacles and setbacks and have successfully settled. Tashi’s family knows that one of her favorite things to do is pray. Pray without ceasing!
Community: Tashi works as a Financial Advisor at RBC. A job she has held since 2016, a year after migrating. She spends her days leading with compassion and care with all her clients, as she provides holistic financial advice. Tashi is a proud RBCer as she’s able to be out in the community representing the different events that are sponsored or supported by RBC.
Tashi is convinced wholeheartedly that all things are possible for those who love the Lord. It is on this premise that she believes she exists and breathes.
She wants to walk in her purpose, praying and encouraging in the bountiful love of God.
