We are hiring a Program Facilitator to facilitate the new 3D Program geared to male youth in conflict with the law. 
The Role
Reporting to the Executive Director, the 3D Program Facilitator will contribute to the overall success of Liberty For Youth by bringing his expertise and experience to the organization and effectively:
Developing and implementing programs for male  youth in the community who are in conflict with   
 the law;
Administering and delivering programs for the youth;
Documenting and evaluating these programs;
Assessing and identifying individual youths’ needs and developing appropriate programs accordingly in order to respond effectively and compassionately to those needs, and;
Planning, implementing, and participating in special projects as required.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Scheduling and administering mentorship lead activities/lesson plans for youth enrolled in Liberty For Youth;
Transporting youth to and from programming locations, Liberty For Youth functions & special events of community partners, funders and stakeholders;
Transporting youth to and from probation appointments & court  dates;
Attending court dates with youth as a support and an advocate;
Attending scheduled outings and activities with the youth;
Hosting programming in youth detention facilities;
Communicating effectively with the Executive Director and youth to determine their needs and interests, as well as with all other individuals within Liberty For Youth programming;
Ensuring program information is accessible to appropriate individuals and concerned parties without breaching the youths’ confidentiality;
Maintaining an effective, fluid communication network for the programs and youth services;
Recording information on the Liberty For Youth’s matrix tool for reports and program impact concerning youth programs, costs, numbers of participants, and equipment and facility use;
Providing monthly and yearly reports about youth programs’ success and opportunities to the Executive Director and the Program Manager;
Ensuring that all programs and activities are implemented according to relevant legislation, policies, and procedures;
Performing other related duties as required (ex. attending fundraising events and adjusting duties to best suit the success of the event);  
Given the changing nature of the work and the present environment within which we operate, emerging responsibilities and duties may necessitate adjustments to this job description.
Financial Duties and Responsibilities:
Performing 3D program specific cash management functions including receiving, recording, issuing receipts for payments, preparing and making bank deposits;
Developing 3D program specific monthly Cash Flow Analysis and Forecast to be provided as part of monthly Financial reporting to the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and the Treasurer and Finance/Audit Committee;
Implementing and ensuring compliance with internal financial and accounting policies, procedures and processes as developed and set out by the Administrative Officer and the Finance/Audit Committee;
Providing assistance in the development of the annual budget as per Liberty For Youth policies; this will include the provision of quotes and the development of supporting documentation.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Experience
Minimum 2 year College Diploma in a relevant field;
Valid G Class Driver’s License;
Must meet Liberty For Youth’s Insurance group requirements;
Ability to administer youth programs;
Team building skills;
Analytical and problem solving skills;
Critical decision making skills;
Effective communications skills including verbal, listening, body language, and presentation skills;
Effective written communications skills;
Time management and multi-tasking skills;
Experience working within the arena of disadvantaged youth and youth at risk an asset.

Working Conditions
The 3D Program Facilitator will:
Deliver programs in a variety of locations;
Be able to transport, lift, and carry equipment and supplies;
Be able to work in court, detention centres, and crisis situations as required;
Using office equipment -  including computers – as required in order to complete responsibilities of the role;
Strong knowledge in sports, recreation, and  activities;  
Knowledge of our city and a good understanding of directions;
Be involved in a number of high energy activities;
Ideally be trained in Non Violent Crisis Intervention and have effective strategies for helping youth to calm themselves when the youth are feeling angry or aggressive;
Possess (for the safety of the facilitator or youth) the physical strength and stamina to be able to effectively block or hold aggressive youth(s) until support arrives (such as the arrival of other LFY staff or police if necessary) or to provide for the safe sequestering/evacuation of the facilitator as well as any youth requiring protection from the aggressive youth(s);
Be prepared to bring youth(s) to the hospital emergency department as required and to complete incident reports during and/or after  work;
Be able to multi-task by managing a number of projects at one time with frequent interruptions;
Possess excellent organizational, time, and stress management skills to complete the highest priority tasks required at that time;
Be able to remain patient with youth who can be demanding, challenging, emotionally absent, and/or defiant;
Engage in conflict resolution or crisis management at times, which can be not only physically demanding but also very emotionally demanding;
Be able to effectively “debrief” with the youth (as well as the facilitator , peers, or other co-workers) after an incident.

We provide prevention and intervention mentorship for at-risk youth. Guided by principles of Faith, Hope, and Love we are open to all youth who need a helping hand. We are currently taking referrals for suspended or expelled youth, youth with failing grades, youth on probation, youth involved in gangs and those who feel trapped in negative environments.
