What I love about being a Liberty For Youth staff, is the opportunity our program provides to build heart to heart relationships with at-risk youth in our community. It has been wisely said, “The people who will influence us the most in life, are not the people who we believe in, but the people who believe in us.” The joy of working with Liberty For Youth for me, has got to be when I see youth who are so full of potential and travelling down the wrong path, come to their own realization that they are so much better than the choices they have been making, and change their course of action and start going in a better direction one step at a time. My exciting role is to help these youth see the light, by being a light, and encouraging them to walk in the light –one step at a time.

Working for Liberty For Youth has been a dream come true. I’ve always had a passion for helping people and seeing them realize their true potential. Having worked as a program facilitator with Liberty For Youth in the past, I have witnessed firsthand the amazing life transformations youth have made. A great aspect that I love from Liberty For Youth is how we make it mission to build genuine lasting relationships with youth with the notion of “people don’t care how much you know, until they know how much you care”. As an advocate of education, I encourage youth to complete their academic goals with excellence. My objective now as an executive assistant is to allow Frederick the opportunity to focus on what he loves doing, helping the lives of at-risk youth.

I was born and raised in Hamilton. I am a Business Graduate of Mohawk College and enjoyed an eight-year career at the College only resigning to build Liberty For Youth with my husband Frederick. My heartbeat for youth is education. Education is the key to eradicating poverty and I weave it into every aspect of Liberty For Youth program and culture. My favourite aspect of Liberty For Youth is watching the transformation of youth when they receive resepect and love unconditionally. They literally blossom like a beautiful flower. What a priviledge to be a part of that process. There is no greater feeling in the world...
